Leon N. Brown worked for the Diamond Match Company in Oswego, New York and later transfered to the plant in Springfield, Massachusetts. He began working for the company in 1909 as a time keeper and was eventually promoted to chief accountant of the Oswego plant prior to being transfered to the Springfield plant. He retired from the company in 1955 at the age of 65. The Oswego plant was in operation from 1894 to 1952.
