Pittsburgh banker and industrialist Charles McKnight (1863-1926) married Eliza Cochran Wilson (1860-1926) in 1888. Eliza Cochran Wilson McKnight was the daughter of a Presbyterian minister, Samuel Jennings Wilson (1828-1883) and granddaughter of Allegheny merchant Robert Hudman Davis (1814-1881), who was the son of Judge Hugh Davis (1777-1862), one of the earliest settlers in Allegheny County., Charles McKnight was associated with the First National Bank of Sewickley and Western National Bank and president of the Carbon Steel Company. Eliza Cochran Wilson McKnight was active in civic organizations, principally the Woman's Club of Sewickley Valley, and charities, including thte Protestant Orphan Asylum of Pittsburgh and Allegheny and Woman's Missionary Society of the Presbyterian Church of Sewickley, Pa. Their eldest daughter, Rachel Lowrie McKnight Simmons (18809-1979) attended Smith College and Columbia University and trained as a nurse.
