Mrs. (G.T.W.) Kern is best known as the author of the Trail of the Three Notched Road (Richmond: William Byrd Press, 1928; 2nd ed., 1929). She was extremely active in numerous types of volunteer work in World War I, as a writer, and in her role as Information Officer for the Virginia State Chamber of Commerce.
