Holman, Emile, 1890-

Dr. Holman received his M.D. degree from the Johns Hopkins Medical School in 1918 and for the next five years worked with William S. Halsted and J.M.T. Finney. From 1926 to 1955 he was professor of surgery at Stanford University. His major contributions were in the fields of vascular physiology and surgery.

Emile Holman (1890-1977) was a student of Sir William Osler in England and served his residency under Dr. Halsted. He was chairman of the Department of Surgery at Stanford from 1926-1955.
