Edgar, William C. (William Crowell), 1856-1932
Variant namesWilliam C. Edgar was the publisher and editor of the Northwestern Miller, a flour milling trade journal published in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In 1906 Edgar started The Bellman as an outlet for his writing interests and ran it from the offices of the Northwestern Miller. During the later years of The Bellman's publication, Edgar became involved in famine relief efforts in Belgium during World War I. In 1919 he decided to cease publishing The Bellman to focus on the Northwestern Miller and his other activities. Edgar retired from the Northwestern Miller in 1924, though he continuted to write. He died December 2, 1932 at his home in Marine on St. Croix, Minnesota.
