Set in Revolutionary-era Boston and based on James Fenimore Cooper's 1825 novel Lionel Lincoln, the play revolves around the relationship between a young British nobleman and his patriot father. The play was performed in the late 1830s at the Bowery Theater, New York City; the Fremont Theater, Boston; and the American Theater, New Orleans.
