Liardet, W. F. E. (Wilbraham Frederick Evelyn), 1799-1878
Variant namesEarly settler in Melbourne. Arriving in 1839, he was appointed in 1840 as the first Ship mail contractor at Port Melbourne. He is generally regarded as being the founder of Port Melbourne. Also known for his historically important series of water colour sketches of early Melbourne.
