Arkansas Teachers Association
Variant namesThe Arkansas Teachers Association was founded in 1898 as the State Colored Teachers Association of Arkansas on the campus of Branch Normal College. J.C. Corbin was the founder and first president. The name changed to the Association of Teachers of Negro Youth in Arkansas in 1931 and the Arkansas Teachers Association in 1938. It merged with the Arkansas Education Association in 1969.
