Edna Marie Sale was born September 28, 1882, and spent much of her early life in Urbana, Illinois. She graduated from Urbana High School in 1900 and several years later enrolled in the Northwestern University School of Oratory. Sale spent two years at Northwestern, graduating in 1907. She was an active member of Zeta Phi Eta, the professional communication fraternity. Sale married Joseph McCoy in the fall of 1907 and the couple later settled in southern California. She was the sister of actor Charles “Chic” Sale (1885-1936) and sister of actress Virginia Sale (1899-1992). Sale died circa May, 1978.
