George Family.
The George family lived in Griffin, Georgia where Rev. George was a minister of the Episcopal Church. His son, Charles H. George, enlisted in 1861 in a Georgia regiment which was stationed near Norfolk, Virginia. In May 1862, he received a commission in a battalion of sharpshooters of the 5th Georgia Infantry, stationed in Mississippi. He served in Mississippi, Tennessee and Georgia, and died of wounds received during the Atlanta Campaign.
