Esther Zwisler was born in Akron, Ohio, in 1900, the daughter of Clarence and Minnie Zwisler. She trained as a nurse at Bozeman Deaconess Hospital, and then moved to Helena in 1923 to work at St. Peter's Hospital. She worked for a number of years as a cashier at Shodair Hospital, and worked for eight years for the State Board of Health, until her retirement in 1962. she continued on as a consultant. She died on October 2, 1991.
