Born in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Served in the Army during World War I. Apprenticed in the printers trade. Worked for the Denver Express, Rocky Mountain News, and Denver Post. Became first Director of Apprenticeship for the Colorado State Board of Vocational Education. Later joined Dept. of Labor's Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training. Retired as Director. Active in typographers unions. Married Mary Bow in 1939.
