Kaufmann family
The first member of the Kaufmann family, Jacob Kaufmann, emigrated from Germany in 1867 and was followed by his three brothers, Isaac, Henry and Morris. In 1871, Jacob started a men's store which developed into Kaufmann's Department Stores.
