Bell, John-Zephaniah, 1794-1883
Variant namesThe Scottish painter John Zephaniah Bell exhibited at the Royal Academy and at the Royal Manchester Institution from 1824 to 1865. He was the director of the Government school of design in Manchester from 1837, and was considered the reviver of fresco painting in Scotland.
