Variant namesThe Independent Order of Odd Fellows was established in 1843. The I.O.O.F. derives from the English Oddfellows, founded in the 17th-century. A community service organization, the I.O.O.F's existence in Savannah was first documented in 1867. For several years, the Grand Lodge of Georgia had its headquarters in Savannah.
