Munroe Paper Company
Munroe Felt and Paper Company incorporated in Lawrence, Mass., in 1881; later known as Munroe Paper Company; in 1940 it was called Munroe Paper Corporation and later D.F. Munroe Company. In 1984 Central National-Gottesman Inc. acquired Lindenmeyr Paper Corporation which became known as Lindenmeyr Division. This acquired D.F. Munroe Company in 1988 and the resulting combination of companies would become known as Lindenmeyr Munroe. Merrimac Paper Company was founded in 1866 and was located next to the Munroe mills on the south canal in Lawrence.
