German botanist and orchidologist.

Friedrich Wilhelm Ludwig Kränzlin (1847-1934) continued the work of John Lindley, "father of orchidology", and Heinrich Gustav Reichenbach (1823-1889), the foremost German orchidologist of the 19th century, identifying and classifying many new orchid genera and species.
