Daniel, John I.,
Colonel John I. Daniel III was raised in Zachary, La., and attended Louisiana State University. He worked as a control tower operator in the Marshall Islands during World War II and attended flight school at Randolph Air Force Base, Texas, after the war. He served as a pilot in Germany, France, Turkey, and the Philippines. Daniel served in Vietnam in 1965-66 and 1971-72.
