Heroman, George M. (George Mathew), 1808-1861.
George M. Heroman was a German immigrant and merchant in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. When he left Germany, he changed his name from George Matthaeus Heldmann. He was married to Celestine Piker (1828-1890) and had five children, Elizabeth Ann (married to William McNabb, d. 1887 at age 51), George W. (1854-1890), Mary C., Emma G., and Fred (a private in the 3rd Louisiana Infantry and major heir to the Heroman estate). After George M. Heroman's death, Celestine married John Boning in 1863.
