Jerome C. Berrigan was born in 1919, the son of Thomas Berrigan and Frida Fomherz (also spelled Fromhart), the fourth of their six children. He married Carol Rizzo in 1955 and was a professor of English at Onandaga Community College in Syracuse, NY for over 30 years. He has been involved in political protests since the late 1950s and continues to do volunteer work in various jails, nursing homes and collecges in upstate New York. Although Jerome remained at home while his brothers Daniel and Philip protested in the national spotlight, his home became the repository for the family's history as collected from Philip and Daniel.
