Variant namesEdward Whiting Fox (1911-1996) was a prominent scholar of European history, receiving his B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. from Harvard University. Edward and Betty had three children: Elizabeth "Betsy" Ann Fox-Genovese, Edward Whiting Fox, Jr., and Rebecca "Becky" Fox. Betsey Fox, like her father, was a prominent historian. She married Eugene Genovese in 1969.
