"Sarge" Brown was a member of 10th Mountain Division. Served at Camp Hale, Colo. and Italy. Seriously injured in Italy and spent months in a hospital. Also served in the Korean War. Taught mountaineering skills for Dartmouth ROTC. In 1966. Moved to Vail, Colo. and managed the construction of ski lifts and trails. Succeeded in getting the 1989 World Alpine Ski Championship held at Vail, Colo. Inducted into the Colorado Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame (1982) and the U.S. National Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame (1990). Died September 14, 2008 in Grand Junction, Colo.
