South Dakota. Governor (1907-1909 : Coe I. Crawford)
Born 1858 in Volney, Iowa. Died 1944 in Huron, S.D. Crawford worked for the passage of the direct primary law. As part of his Progressive platform, Crawford pushed for railroad regulations, including limited hours, maximum rates, and increased powers for the railroad commission.
