Minister and planter; 1858 graduate of Wofford College, Spartanburg, S.C.; represented Orangeburg County in S.C. General Assembly, 1882-1885; postmaster at Springfield, S.C.; preached for many years in the Methodist church; ordained a Lutheran pastor in 1908.
