Although born in Ohio, Dick Fleming (Richard Jarvis Fleming) lived much of his adult life in Arizona. A former reporter for the Eloy (Arizona) Enterprise, Fleming earned his B.A. and M.A. from Arizona State University. After teaching English in Arizona public schools for seventeen years, he became a full-time writer, amateur printer and proprietor of The Flying Coffin Press in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
