Major General Arthur Y. Lloyd (1908-1986) was a native of Lisman in Webster County. While he was a Kentucky adjutant general (1959-1967), he headed Civil Defense and the Kentucky National Guard. In addition to holding other state offices and serving on many committees and in many organizations, he taught political science and operated a tobacco and livestock farm.
