Jerry Pacht was born in Los Angeles, Calif. on January 24, 1922; undergraduate degree from UCLA; law degree from University of Southern California; 1949 joined law firm owned by father, Isaac Pacht; unsuccessful Democratic party candidate for Congress in 1960 and 1962 elections; appointed to Los Angeles Municipal Court in 1965; elevated to the Los Angeles Superior Court in 1966; in 1969 ruled against University of California Regents termination of UCLA philosophy professor Angela Davis; target of Worldwide Church of God litigation 1979-1980; died April 1, 1997 in Los Angeles.
