Edmund Pope, the son of Edmund Pope and Roxanna Braley, was born in Roxbury, Vermont on February 29, 1840. He enlisted on September 16, 1861 as a corporal in Company C, First Vermont Cavalry. He re-enlisted on February 24, 1864 and was promoted to Sergeant. On June 29, 1864 he was taken prisoner at Stony Creek. He died December 15, 1864 on board a transport going from Charlestown to Annapolis on his way home.

Orza Boyce, the son of Henry S. Boyce and Mary Wales, was born in Roxbury, Vermont on August 10, 1843. He enlisted on December 17, 1863 in Company B, Fourth Vermont Regiment.
