Jayne family.

The Sherwood-Jayne house and farm in East Setauket were owned by the Jayne family from the late 1600's until the early 1900's when they were bought by Howard C. Sherwood, founder of the Society for the Preservation of Long Isalnd Antiquities. Sherwood deeded the property to SPLIA after his death.
