Benjamin Eleden Weschler was born in D.C. in 1922 and joined the 10th Mountain Division at Camp Hale, Colo. Initially assigned to Company B of the 87th Infantry Regiment, he later transferred to Headquarters Company. Weschler was also stationed at Camp Swift, Tex. before being sent to Italy. He was awarded the Bronze Star medal for his actions in the military campaigns at the Apennine Mountains and Po River during Spring 1945. Weschler attained the rank of Technician Grade 3. He died in Fla. in 1993.
