Member, Illinois House of Representatives (Democrat), 1979-, representing the 24th, and later 26th and 25th districts in south Chicago.
Assistant majority leader, 1993-1994. Served on the Illinois Commission on the Status of Women, and the Revenue, Public Aid, Appropriations, Environment and Energy, and the 1992 World's Fair committees, among others. Gradaute of the University of Chicago, she married David Park Currie with whom she had two children.
