Edwards, Thomas, Captain
The Society of the Cincinnai was organized after the American Revolution by officers of the American army to perpetrate their wartime associations and as a form of protest for lack of pay. George Washington was elected first president and served from Dec., 1783 until his death in 1799. The concept of the society probably originated with Maj. Gen. Henry Knox.
