Henry L. Zucker (1910-1998) was born in Cleveland, Ohio. A graduate of Glenville High School, Zucker graduated from Western Reserve University in 1932 and then completed a master's degree from the university's School of Applied Social Sciences in 1935. He began his career as a social worker with local agencies and during World War II served as a special consultant in Washington, D. C. In 1946 he began his long association with Cleveland's Jewish community when he accepted the position of Associate Director of the Jewish Welfare Federation of Cleveland. When he retired in 1975 he had worked as Executive Director (1948-1965) and Executive Vice President (1965-1975) of the Jewish Community Federation.

Henry L. Zucker was a native of Cleveland, Ohio, and a social worker. In 1946, he became the Associate Director of the Jewish Welfare Federation of Cleveland. He was Executive Director (1948-1965) and Executive Vice President (1965-1975) of the Jewish Community Federation. Under his leadership, it became one of the most successful community federations in the United States. Zucker also served as a consultant to other Jewish federations and local and national social organizations.

Henry L. Zucker (b. 1910) was born in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1910. He began his career as a social worker with local agencies and during World War II served as a special consultant in Washington, D. C. In 1946 he began his long association with Cleveland's Jewish community when he accepted the position of Associate Director of the Jewish Welfare Federation of Cleveland. When he retired in 1975 he had worked as Executive Director (1948-1965) and Executive Vice President (1965-1975) of the Jewish Community Federation. Under the leadership of Zucker and Executive President Sidney Vincent, Cleveland's Jewish Community Federation became known as one of the most successful in the country, raising more money per capita than any other community federation. Zucker developed the Endowment Fund system, now common in Jewish communities, and was a consultant to other Jewish federations and local and national social organizations, including Case Western Reserve University, Baldwin-Wallace College, the Welfare Federation of Cleveland, United Torch Services, the National Council of Jewish Federations and Welfare Funds, United Jewish Appeal, and the Joint Distribution Committee.
