Edwin Mark Blue (1918-1983) received his B.S.Ed. degree at Georgia Teachers College and his M.Ed. degree at the University of Georgia. His dissertation, School Desegregation and Involuntary Turnover of Elected School Superintendents in Georgia, was at Auburn University. He was the principal of numerous schools in Georgia and served as superintendent in Carroll County. From 1969 until 1974 he was an assistant professor of education at West Georgia College. In addition, from 1974 until 1981 he was an associate professor of education, as well as the Director of External Studies from 1974 to 1980. In 1980-1981 he was the Senior Coordinator of Evening Studies. Dr. Blue was a member of several educational societies, including Kappa Delta Phi, Phi Delta Kappa, and the Georgia Association of Educators. He was also a veteran of World War II. He retired in 1981 and died in 1983. He is buried in Summerville, Ga.
