Solo violinist, chamber music player, orchestral leader, conductor, teacher and music administrator. Llewellyn was leader of the Queensland State String Quartet, 1944-48, Concertmaster of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, 1949-64, and Director of Canberra School of Music. He was the first Australian to serve on the jury of the Tchaikovsky competition in Moscow, 1978.
