Clay family.
U.S. Congressman, U.S. Senator
Henry Clay was a famous Kentucky statesman. Josephine Russell, daughter of William Henry Russell and granddaughter of Robert Spottswood Russell, married Clay's grandson, Eugene Erwin. Erwin died at the battle of Vicksburg in 1863. Three years later, Josephine married Clay's son, John M. Clay.
