Gay, Hobart R. (Hobart Raymond), 1894-
Variant namesHobart Raymond Gay (b. May 16, 1894-Aug. 1983) was born in Rockport, Illinois. He received his commission in the U.S. Cavalry in 1917, and advanced to the rank of brigadier general in June 1943, and major general in March 1945. He commanded the U.S. VI Corps and III Corps from 1952 to 1954, and retired from Army service in August 1955.
