Hurt, John E., 1912-
John E. Hurt was a prominent political fundraiser and legal advisor for the Democratic Party in Indiana from the 1940s-1970s.
Hurt earned a Special LLB from Indiana University in 1944 and made his home in Martinsville. He served as secretary to the Democratic National Convention for Indiana in 1948. He later became the Indiana delegate in 1956, 1960, 1964, and 1972 Democratic conventions. Hurt also participated in the management of the successful Indiana gubernatorial campaigns of Henry F. Schricker and Matthew E. Welsh.
