Navigators
Evangelical organization emphasizing evangelism, Bible memorization, and Christian discipleship and service. The Navigators was started in 1933 by Dawson Trotman. It was particularly active among college students. Because of the Navigator's heavy emphasis on follow-up, Billy Graham asked Trotman in 1950 to develop a counseling and follow-up system for his crusades. This task was completed in 1957 when the BGEA established its own follow-up department under Charles Riggs, formerly with the Navigators.
