Shumway, Horatio, 1788-1871.

Born in Belchertown, Mass. in 1788; studied law in New York City and practiced in Watertown, N.Y. Came to Buffalo in 1824; married Mary Heywood (born in Worcester, Mass.) in 1833. Elected to the New York State Assembly in 1846. The Shumways had one child, Mary H. Shumway.
