Henry C. Johnson was appointed associate professor of education at Penn State University in 1971, becoming a full professor in 1976. He served as chairman of the Cultural Foundation of Education and professor-in-charge of the Department of Education Theory and Policy, as well as on numerous committees within the college. He retired with the rank of emeritus professor in education, in 1998.
