Franks, Russell, 1897-1975.
Born in 1897, Russell Franks was educated in Virginia and in his 78 years accomplished many projects of great value and research in the area of metallurgy. In this collection there are several diaries documenting his work that is interesting to see the progress of a project taking place. Rising to theposition of Chief Metallurgist for Union Carbide, Franks career included a plethora of patents to his name. He also participated and contributed heavily to the war effort duringWWII with the production of metal items. He died in 1975.
