The Office of the Vice President for Research was instituted at the University of Central Florida during the 1988-1989 academic year, becoming separate from the previous Office of Research and Graduate Studies. The Office is responsible for all the research activities at the University, both those taking place on campus and with UCF affiliated instutions, as well as partnerships with outside institutions. This Office has evolved over the years to become the Office of Research and Commercialization, which is still headed by the Vice President of Research.
