Crandall, Roderic
American geologist. Received MS in Geology from Stanford in 1907, then went to Brazil as geological assistant to J.C. Branner. His wife (also a graduate of Stanford) joined him in August, 1908. They spent several years in Brazil and then traveled to the Russian island of Sakhalin, then England and Moscow in search of oil.
