Harris, Fergus Sloan, 1840-1905.
Nashville, Tennessee resident and Confederate States of America Army captain. Wounded several times during the war, Fergus Sloan Harris (1840-1905) was promoted to the rank of lieutenant, then captain of Company H of the 7th Tennessee Infantry. In 1864 he was given command of Archer's Tennessee Brigade of Sharpshooters. After the war he returned to private life as a businessman in Lebanon, Tennessee. He also served as warden of the state prison of Tennessee.
