The Arizona Diamondbacks (National League) and Tampa Bay Devil Rays (American League) are two Major League teams that played their inaugural season in 1998. In Phoenix, ArizonaOn November 18, 1997, these two teams held a draft of Major and Minor League players from the other 28 Major League teams. Each team selected 35 players during the draft.
