Whitehead, John S., -1990
Variant namesJohn Whitehead, son of William Whitehead, cashier of Newark Banking and Insurance Company, entered the mercantile profession in New York. He later moved to Mobile, Alabama and was a resident of Key West from 1824-1832, when he moved to New Orleans. Returning to New York, John Whitehead held the vice-presidency of a leading insurance company. He died on August 29, 1864. His brother, William A. Whitehead, served as an executor of his will.
