Born in Preston, Lancashire, England in 1917. His family emigrated to Canada in 1924 and he grew up in Vancouver, B.C. He was a well known script writer, interviewer, free lance book reviewer and music critic. Among his published books are Mazo de la Roche of Jalna, The Branding of America and Verse of All Sorts.
