Damas de Galvez (San Antonio, Tex.)
Founded in 1977 by Alicia Barrera as a sister organization to the male Granaderos de Galvez, Las Damas de Galvez is a patriotic organization devoted to the promotion of Spanish heritage in the U.S. and the contributions of the Spanish to the success of the American War for Independence. Activities of the organization include sponsoring mass on the birthday of Bernardo de Galvez, donating books to school libraries, attending annual national meetings, and planning for community events.
