Bertrand William Chapman, the son of Corrie Henderson and Bertrand Azra Chapman (1868-1959), was born on April 13, 1900 in Springfield, Vermont. He met and later married Marcella A. Cassard in 1931 or 1932, when they were both graduate students at the University of Vermont. In 1934, he was selected as an educational advisor for C.C.C. camps in Vermont. He served as an advisor to Camp Greene in Vermont, and to a camp in Woodsville, New Hampshire. He resigned as an educational advisor to the C.C.C. camps in 1941. Bertrand Chapman died on August 24, 1978 in Burlington, Vermont.
